Liz meets unpaid carers during Carers Week

This week is Carers Week and so I was delighted to join the ‘Care for a Cuppa’ roundtable to hear first hand from unpaid carers about their experiences and the challenges they are facing.

They spoke about juggling caring and work responsibilities, and trying to support their loved ones within a broken system. I set out Labour’s plan to begin to fix our broken care system, which you can read more about here.

This Carers Week we recognise the remarkable contribution of carers and reflect on the support that we must ensure they receive. You can see Carers UK’s tweet about the roundtable here.
