The school in Leicester @StokesWoodPS where staff are buying food and Christmas presents for the children. Plus the political argument over taxing the Independent sector to help fund state schools. More on @politicseastmid this Sunday and @bbcemt pic.twitter.com/uB7MowfF9h

Staff at Stokes Wood Primary School in New Parks are doing amazing work to buy food for pupils who otherwise would be going hungry, but school staff should not be paying out of their own pocket to make sure children have food.
Labour would scrap the tax loopholes that private schools benefit from so we could put £1.7 billion into state schools to ensure they can really give children the best start in life. You can see me speak to Tony Roe from BBC East Midlands about this in the clip above.
