I had packed day of meetings and events last Friday.
I started off by meeting Leicester and Leicestershire Citizens, a local alliance of faith and education organisations, unions and charities, to discuss their plans for a real living wage for a care sector.
I then held an MP surgery event, hosted by the B-Inspired Charity at their neighbourhood community centre on Gallards Hill. Anti-social behaviour, education and housing, housing, housing were raised by constituents who came to speak to me.
I was also really pleased to meet with Central Leicester Neighbourhood Commander, Nadia Rana to discuss latest crime and policing issues and the positive work Leicester Police are doing with young people in the city.
A real highlight of the week was taking part in Zumba Gold at Braunstone Baptist Church with amazing fitness instructor, Nic. A great way to stay fit, active and meet new people – part of @RoyalVolService’s brilliant “first time for everything” programme for the over 55s. Video below!
