On Monday 9 June I spoke for Labour in a debate on the Queen’s Speech. I set out the huge problems created by the Government’s reorganisation of the NHS and how vital services like A&E, cancer treatment, GP appointments and care for elderly and disabled people have gone backwards since the election.
I also set out how a Labour Queen’s Speech would properly join up health and social care services, guarantee patients access to GPs at a time that’s convenient to them, and improve care for elderly and disabled people by ending the scandal of inappropriate 15 minute care visits and exploitative zero hours contracts for care workers.
