As part of the work I have been doing on the proposed cuts to Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service, I am very pleased to learn that plans, which would have seen the closure of Central Station, will be reconsidered. Western Fire Station is already set to lose one of its engines and with the potential closure of Central Station, these cuts would have seriously compromised with the safety of my constituents, putting lives in danger.
