I recently held a meeting with workers at Samworth Brothers’, a major employer in my constituency, to discuss changes to their contracts including cuts to premium payments for night, weekend and overnight shifts.
The next day, I met with some of the Directors at Samworth Brothers to raise my serious concerns that many hard working people will be worse off as a result of these changes, despite the fact that the national minimum wage is being increased. I have now written to the Chief Executive of Samworth Brothers to demand that action is taken.
