Today, NHS England announced that they want to close Glenfield’s children’s heart surgery unit. This makes absolutely no sense when Glenfield has some of the best clinical outcomes of any unit in the country. The decision will also put at risk our world leading ECMO service, which is the largest in the UK with the only national patient transport service. I will be leading a cross-party campaign against this decision.
