I think the government’s plans to expand grammar schools are wrong because they will further disadvantage the poorest children in society. All the evidence shows the best way to help poor children fulfill their potential is through high quality early years services, getting the best heads and teachers in the schools that need them most, and having an inspiring curriculum for academic and vocational qualifications.
