Liz questions Foreign Secretary on Iran nuclear deal

On 9th May, I asked the Foreign Secretary whether he shares my concern that President Trump’s decision to unilaterally withdraw America’s support for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action with Iran – the “Iran nuclear deal” – was a huge mistake with potentially disastrous consequences.

The deal is working, Iran has significantly rolled back its nuclear program and the Independent Atomic Energy Authority has said Iran is compliant. The reality is Iran’s extremely troubling behaviour in the wider region, including its support of terrorism, will be even more dangerous if Iran’s nuclear program goes unchecked. It is vital Britain does everything possible to ensure the deal remains in place, working with our international allies.
