One of my favourite things about being a local MP is that I get to meet so many volunteers and community activists across Leicester West. They are genuinely inspirational, giving so much to make life better for local people and asking for nothing in return.

Joe Carroll, is a good example. He dedicates much of his life to speaking up for the community in Braunstone Frith and plays a very active role in running the local recreation centre on Sharmon Crescent. I dropped in to catch up with Joe and to meet with the older people he brings together each week for a spot of Bingo. It was a lot of fun!
