On Thursday 14th March, an important committee in the House of Lords published a report called ‘Ready for Ageing?’
The report rightly says our ageing population raises huge challenges for Government, public services, businesses and society as a whole.
I particularly welcome the report’s call for radical reform of the NHS and social care. We need far bolder changes to ensure these services are fully integrated, with a much bigger focus on prevention to help people stay healthy and living independently for longer. These are precisely the issues Labour’s health policy review is addressing.
