The Government wants to abolish student grants, and I’m really concerned that this will mean students from the lowest income families will be saddled with huge debts.
That’s why on 19 January I voted to try to save these grants. Sadly, Labour MPs were outnumbered, but I will continue to fight against these plans and stand up for students in my constituency who rely on maintenance grants.
