The Carers Centre is a fantastic charity that provides support and advice to unpaid family carers in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. On Thursday 28th April I took part in a Question and Answer session with carers as part of the Centre’s 25th Anniversary celebrations. We discussed a range of topics including cuts to local services and financial support and the fact that many unpaid carers have to give up work to look after their loved ones.
It’s not right that people who do so much get so little help in return, which is why I’m campaigning for a better deal for carers. You can read my Leicester Mercury column about this issue here.
