For Parliament to be effective, it’s absolutely vital that MPs listen to, and understand, the wide range of communities we represent. This is especially the case for a city as diverse as Leicester.

I made this point when I recently spoke at the launch of the All Party Parliamentary Group for British Hindus. I hope this new grouping of cross party MPs will provide another effective way of taking up the issues that really matter to our City’s temples, grassroots Hindu organisations and the wider Hindu community.
