It’s been just 10 days since people voted for a Labour Government, and the work of change has already begun for people in Leicester and across the country.
These are just some of the changes we’ve already made:
We’ve restored mandatory housebuilding targets, so we can get to work on building 1.5 million new homes, helping people in Leicester get on the housing ladder
We’ve lifted the ban on onshore wind, to help make Britain a clean energy superpower and cut local people’s bills for good.
We’ve recommitted £3 billion of military support to Ukraine, defending our interests abroad
We’ve begun talks with the BMA to bring an end to strikes in our NHS.
We’ve ordered an immediate assessment of the public finances after fourteen years of Tory failure.There’s still so much to do, but this Labour Government is committed to delivering for people in Leicester and up and down the country.
