I have published a statement, alongside Jon Ashworth MP and Claudia Webbe MP, responding to the independent review into the Boohoo Group’s Leicester supply chain. Boohoo commissioned this from Allison Levitt QC, as a result of a Sunday Times investigation into exploitation in Boohoo’s factories.
The review found that Boohoo have known about unacceptable working conditions in its Leicester factories for years, but failed to take action quickly enough.
Leicester’s MPs and councillors have been raising these issues for many years, but our concerns have been brushed aside, downplayed and ignored. Boohoo’s board must set out how it will ensure that its terrible treatment of workers throughout the supply chain never happens again.
