I was delighted to take part in LeicestHERday’s Jubilee Awards ceremony in November, celebrating the enormous contributions that women in Leicester have made to the community, at work and in business.
It’s really important that we recognise and celebrate people who give so much to our local communities and city.
I felt very proud, and humbled, to present the award for ‘Woman in the Community’ to Paige Murray, who lives in Braunstone. Paige is an inspirational young woman with cerebral palsy who has championed the needs and rights of children and young people with disabilities throughout Leicester. She has made a huge contribution through her work with Braunstone’s Youth Panel, the Big Mouth Forum the city’s Young People’s Council. Congratulations Paige!
