I was honoured to attend the grand opening of Forest Lodge Community Primary School. The school was the only one in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to obtain funding under the priority schools building programme. Now after several years of upheaval the pupils have a state of the art facility with 210 more places for pupils of all ages.
I am so proud of all the staff and pupils who have worked hard to make this possible. It was a real tribute to their efforts that Claudio Ranieri – and Filbert Fox!– attended the opening. It is also great news that Leicester City FC Community Trust is partnering with the school to run its Premier League Primary Stars programme, to develop skills and ambitions for boys and girls both on and off the sports field.
