Liz calls for improvements in private rented sector

private rented sector 2On 23rd January I took part in a House of Commons debate on how to ensure the private rented sector provides decent, affordable homes.

This is an increasingly important issue in my constituency. More than 1 in 5 households in Leicester are in the private rented sector, up from 1 in 10 a decade ago. I am very concerned about the huge, unfair and unclear administration fees that some letting agents charge. We also need to improve the quality of rented housing, root out rogue landlords and ensure there are longer tenancies for people that want them.
