Today, De Montfort University have announced that they have been chosen by the United Nations to lead a network of Universities aiming to build better cities and communities across the world.

This means they will lead a team from across the globe finding solutions issues like affordable housing, air pollution, clean water and sanitation, and renewable energy in cities worldwide.

This is wonderful news for DMU, and for the whole of Leicester, showcasing the global reach of our great city’s work and ideas.

I especially want to pay tribute to the members of staff at the University who have made this happen, as well as the students who contribute so much to our community in Leicester.
