Last week I joined one of Mobilise’s ‘Virtual Cuppas’ with carers from across the country. Their ‘Virtual Cuppas’ have been running every day since March, and give carers a chance to meet each other and share their experiences.
Mobilise are using technology to identify and support people caring for family members. Many people don’t even think of themselves as carers, and Mobilise can get them the information and advice they need quickly and easily.
I had a wonderful time chatting with carers and hearing their stories. The experiences they shared highlighted to me the desperate need to support our unpaid carers – we need to ensure that carers are put at the heart of longer term reform for social care as we rebuild after this crisis.
