Delayed discharges are a tragedy for patients and their families and they aren’t good for taxpayers either.
New research from the Labour Party shows thousands of people died in hospital last year because they couldn’t get the care they need at home.
Meanwhile, delayed discharges cost the taxpayer £1.65 billion last year due to Government’s failure to free up hospital beds.
