Liz opposes proposed increase in MPs’s pay

You may have heard that the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) has proposed increasing MPs’s salaries by 9% (£7,000) in 2015.

I think this is completely wrong when so many of my constituents are struggling to make ends meet and other public sector workers’ pay has been held to a 1% increase.

IPSA is consulting on its proposals and I would urge you to make your views known via their website: www.parliamentarystandards.org.uk.

Like the Labour Party’s leader Ed Miliband, I don’t want these plans to go ahead and I won’t accept a pay rise if IPSA continues to recommend one in 2015. Read more about this issue here and here.
