Liz supports National Apprenticeships Week

For twelve years the Tories have been letting down young people like those at Leicester College with a decade of decline in opportunities. I was delighted to visit the college to mark National Apprenticeships Week by meeting a brilliant group of talented engineering apprentices, ambitious for their futures. The young people I met were ambitious for their futures and want to learn new skills to get new jobs, or progress at work. But they are being let down, unable to find training opportunities.

I am really worried that apprenticeship starts have almost halved in Leicester West over the last decade. Labour will reverse this trend, giving businesses the flexibility they need to train people up with new skills from digital technologies, to the green skills needed to tackle climate change.
