Liz tells new PM to do the right thing and call an election


 After weeks of chaos and untold damage to people’s lives and livelihoods, the Tories have yet another prime minister.

But Rishi Sunak has no mandate from my constituents or the rest of the country, and his dire record speaks for itself. When he was Chancellor, Mr Sunak presided over chronic low growth, stagnating wages and the highest tax burden since the second world war.

 The Tories should now do the right thing and give the public a say on their future with a General Election.  The choice is between more instability and failure under the Tories, and a stable Government with a clear plan for the future with Keir Starmer’s Labour.
