Chris Cronogue was an amazing community activist, who sadly passed away earlier this year. For over 30 years Chris worked tirelessly for local people, including setting up the Hand in Hand Tenants Association, helping residents to tackle anti-social behaviour, and championing better opportunities for young people.

I was honoured to unveil a plaque commemorating Chris’s work alongside her lovely family. The plaque is in the new Community Money Solutions advice centre on Bateman Road, which is in the building where the Hand in Hand Tenants Association used to be.

I will never forget Chris, or the amazing work she did for local people. She will be sorely missed.
