I recently visited Lakelands Hospice, an amazing charity that provides day care and home care in Corby, East Northamptonshire.

Lakelands is the first and currently only hospice to have received Gold Standard Accreditation for end of life care. I heard directly from the users and staff about how they’ve achieved this prestigious award.  The staff constantly think about how they can improve their services, asking patients and their families what would help make their lives better, then training their nurses to develop new skills and take on new roles.

Lakelands provides a fantastic service, and is a great example of how more care can be delivered in the community and at home.
