I first met Elizabeth Gibbs from New Parks in Leicester at last year’s Young Builder of the Year Awards where she came highly commended in the 18/24 category. 

I was thrilled to visit Elizabeth on site where she could showcase the skills she is learning through her painting and decorating apprenticeship.

I am so proud of her and all that she has achieved. She has had to battle through difficulties in her personal life, but her hard-work and determination to succeed is clear to see.

I know that Liz has a very bright future ahead of her and she plans to one day run her own business. I am determined to do all I can to support Liz and other young apprentices build a better life for themselves.
