Backing local businesses to boost jobs is one of my key priorities as an MP.

I recently visited the Mark Group Academy in Beaumont Leys.

This growing company – which directly employs 650 staff in Leicester and over 2000 worldwide – helps make homes more energy efficient, including through cavity wall and loft insulation, and solar electricity and hot water.

Mark Group staff spend a week at the training Academy then twelve weeks doing on the job training with at least one qualified technician.

I was really impressed with the Academy and want to ensure we see more ‘green jobs’ in Leicester West.
