On Friday 25th November, I met Nadia Murad, the first UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Dignity of Survivors of Human Trafficking, and winner of the prestigious Sakharov prize for work in human rights.
Nadia is one of the 6,700 Yazidi women captured and enslaved by Daesh. It was a privilege to meet Nadia who told me about her campaign to help other survivors of sexual enslavement and violence and the pioneering legal case she is bringing against Daesh commanders.
