Whilst I welcomed the announcement by the Chancellor that there will be not cuts in police budgets for the next five years, there is still a huge strain on Leicestershire Police.

I am grateful to Andy Elliott from Leicestershire Police, for taking the time to meet with me to discuss Leicestershire Constabulary’s future plans to deal with the changing demands on our local police.

I shall be meeting Andy again in the New Year once the details of what the Chancellor set out in his Autumn Statement have been examined.
