President Zelensky’s address to Parliament

Yesterday, Parliament was honoured to have Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky address the House of Commons.

President Zelensky is the first foreign leader to ever address the House of Commons chamber. He made an incredibly moving speech to MPs and Lords in the chamber on the current situation in Ukraine, and the support Ukraine needs to defend itself from Russia’s terrible invasion. He received two standing ovations.

You can see President Zelensky’s statement here or read it here.

In response to President Zelensky’s statement, the Leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer, said “Labour stands for the unity at home and abroad that will isolate the Putin regime. Labour stands for the toughest sanctions that will cripple the Russian state. Labour stands for providing Ukraine with the arms it needs to fight off its invaders. Labour stands with President Zelensky, with Ukraine, with democracy. Slava Ukraini.”
