Preventing crime through mediation

rj

Last Friday, I visited Restorative Justice in Beaumont Leys to meet women involved in its ‘Women of Peace’ project. This initiative provides mediation services to local communities, helping to improve relationships between victims and offenders. Funding from the People’s Health Trust has provided training on conflict resolution to 12 women. The women run weekly meetings, using their new skills to resolve problems amongst women in their local neighbourhood.

This is a fantastic initiative and I was inspired by the hard work Restorative Justice and their volunteers have been doing to improve their neighbourhoods for the better.
