Whilst out speaking with residents on the streets off Anstey Lane, I met a number of people who were very concerned by a parade of vacant shops on Whitwick Way. The shops haven’t been occupied for some time and they’ve been left in a poor condition, causing a real eyesore for the people who live nearby.
I have been working with the Fosse Ward Councillors, Cllr Sue Waddington and Cllr Ted Cassidy, to take this issue up with the City Council and the land owner. We’ve also carried out a survey to ensure that local people had their say over a planning application that seeks to convert the shops into flats. You can read the full report I submitted on behalf of local residents here.
