Traveller site planning permission granted

On 30th October, Leicester City Council’s Planning and Development Control Committee approved plans to develop two authorised traveller sites on Greengate Lane (6 pitches) and Red Hill Way (10 pitches).

I know these proposals were opposed by the majority of my constituents, which is why I made the strongest possible representations. You can read my most recent letters, which were read out at the planning meeting, here and read coverage in the Leicester Mercury of this issue here and here.

Now the matter has gone to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, who will decide whether to approve the scheme.
