I recently joined local residents at the Tudor Centre in Mowmacre Hill for a cup of coffee and some cake, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee morning.

This was just one of thousands of events held across the country to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer.

Councillor Annette Byrne did a fantastic job organising the coffee morning. Even though times are tough, people dug deep in their pockets to raise over £400 for Macmillan, which does brilliant work supporting patients with cancer and their families. A special mention must go to my constituent Sally-Anne Parker, who made some cookie monster cupcakes which proved a huge hit!
