Ministers will never deal with the record waits for NHS treatment until they stop older people being stuck in hospital because they cannot get decent social care in the community or at home.

Yet after 13 years of the Conservative Government there are now 540k people waiting to have their social care needs assessed & reviewed. Ministers haven’t got a plan to sort this crisis and to stop people ending up in hospital when they don’t need to be there.

I called on the Government to put this right today in Parliament.
