Yesterday I was a guest on Politics Live. We talked about strikes, the Government response, and what Labour  would do differently.

I was clear that the industrial action that is set to take place in the NHS, our rail network and other important services over the Christmas period will be terrible for patients, passengers and working people across the country.

The responsibility for this disruption lies squarely with the Government. Their repeated failure to get round the table with the trade unions is unforgivable. More fundamentally, the reason we are in this position in the first place is because they have failed to grow the economy so we can invest in vital local services and deliver a fair pay rise for hard working staff.
