Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals.  

Child poverty is a scar on our society – the Tories let numbers grow by 900,000 in government.  

It’s the moral mission of this Labour government to drive those numbers down, that’s why we set up the Child Poverty Taskforce.  

10,110 children in Leicester West will benefit from free school meals thanks to this change.  

This comes as we roll out of free breakfast clubs, cut the cost of school uniforms and fund 30 hours of childcare for working parents.  

We’re doing that because children growing up in our country deserve the best start in life – nothing less.  

This is the difference a Labour government, with a Plan for Change, makes.
