Babington school has been transformed in recent years and has is now recognised by Ofsted as offering an “Outstanding” level of education.

These improvements are down to the strong leadershp provided by Head Teacher Denise Newsome, the tireless work of all the teachers and support staff, and the brilliant efforts of Babington’s pupils.

One of the keys to the school’s success is their relentless focus on the individual needs of each and every student. This enables teachers to pick up issues early on and to push children so that they can fulfill their potential. I’m really impressed by initiatives like the “dare to dream” and “find your talent” schemes. These take students on trips to universities, or do work experience in different jobs and careers, which might otherwise seem out of their reach.

I’ll continue to support the great work at Babington, and schools across Leicester West, to raise standards and boost aspiration and achievement.
