Last year, I welcomed the Government’s decision to overturn the flawed “Safe and Sustainable review” and to look again at the decision to close children’s heart surgery at Glenfield.

We’ve been anxiously awaiting NHS England’s consultation, which we were assured would take place next month. But this week, we got the disappointing announcement of yet more delay and uncertainty for patients, families and staff at Glenfield.

I’ll be working on their behalf to demand answers as to why this delay was allowed to occur and what the new time table will be.
