Last Friday, I visited the Dock – a fantastic EU funded building which provides office space for emerging and growing businesses in Leicester. I met with businesses to hear how they benefit from Britain’s membership of the European Union. They told me that our membership is vital to UK jobs, trade and exports.
The referendum on staying in Europe is the most important choice facing Leicester’s businesses in a generation. In Leicester West, more than 9,000 jobs rely on our membership and EU funding has supported brilliant local initiatives like Dock. I think it’s crucial that Britain remains part of the EU to ensure we get the best deal for Leicester’s businesses and jobs.

I am also Labour’s East Midlands EU Champion and am keen to hear from more businesses in Leicester West.
