Residents at Berkley House in Kent were told one morning that they had to be out by 5pm the same day. They had to close due to staffing shortages, leaving their residents with autism and severe learning difficulties with nowhere to go.
This awful case is just the tip of the iceberg.
The Tories’ utter failure to deal with staff shortages in social care is putting people at risk. We need an emergency winter plan, before Parliament stops for Christmas.
