On Friday 25 May I had the pleasure of visiting the new extended Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Glenfield Hospital.
The refurbishment has created four extra bed spaces so that even more children can benefit from the fantastic care Glenfield provides.
We are still waiting to hear the result of the national review of children’s heart surgery, which is due to be announced on July 4th. But Glenfield’s staff are not waiting to continue improving services, care and support for some of the most vulnerable children in Leicester, the East Midlands and beyond.
I think our Children’s Heart Surgery unit provides excellent standards of care. The hospital, staff and families will always get my full backing and support.
