Yesterday I spoke on behalf of the Opposition in a Westminster Hall Debate on research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The debate was held after a petition calling for more funding for MND research got over 110,000 signatures.
I argued that there was a big opportunity for the Government to capitalise on the world class strengths our country has in research and science by investing into MND research. Not only could this lead to new drugs and treatment transforming the lives of people with MND, it could also help create the high quality, high skilled jobs we need to have an economy fit for the future.
