I recently joined Inspector Kevin Morris, Sergeant Michelle Zakoscielny, Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Sir Clive Loader and Councillors Vijay Riyait and Annette Byrne on a patchwalk in Abbey Ward.
Afterwards, I hosted a large community meeting at Stocking Farm Healthy Living Centre. Local residents told Sir Clive about problems with anti social behaviour and drugs. Two of the key issues raised were that so-called ‘low-level’ drug dealers are let off too lightly and that parents need to take more responsibility for their children. I will be taking these issues up locally and in Parliament.
