On Friday 29 June I took part in a walk about in Beaumont Leys with local residents, ward councillors, representatives from Leicester City Council, the local City Wardens and police. Many residents who replied to my recent community survey had expressed concern about the local environment and I was keen to see them first-hand.
I was pleased that so many residents turned out, despite the torrential rain! They told me they were concerned about overgrown bushes, anti social behaviour and fly tipping which they feel ruins their neighbourhood. However, it wasn’t all bad news as there was much praise for the local Police Officers and PCSOs.
The council representatives, police and City wardens said they would take action on the problems raised, and I will continue to monitor the situation to ensure progress is made as swiftly as possible.
