On Wednesday 23 October, I gave a speech at a conference organised by Shared Lives Plus – the UK network for family based and small scale ways of supporting adults. I talked about the need for fundamental changes in our care system to improve the lives of older and disabled people and get better value for public money, setting out five important lessons I’ve learnt from the many innovative and inspiring projects I’ve seen since becoming the Shadow Minister for Care and Older People.
