I am very concerned about the impact that the Government’s cuts to public services and benefits are having on disabled people and their carers.

I recently met with Leicester’s Learning Disability Partnership Board to hear at first hand about people’s experiences. They told me that many of those affected by the Government’s cuts are not scroungers but some of the most vulnerable people in our society.  I’m determined to do all I can to support disabled people and campaign for fairness and justice in our public services and benefits system.
