On Thursday, I spoke to BBC East Midlands Today about the latest changes to the Government’s support package for jobs and businesses. These changes mean that areas in Tier 2 will now be able to apply for government support, which will be backdated to August.
However, Leicester has been in local lockdown since the end of June – for many people, this help has come too late. We have received less support compared to other parts of the country, even though we have had tougher restrictions for longer.
Leicester has been forgotten throughout this crisis, and we need to know how the Government plans to help our city.
